Kay Corwell was recognized by THS Principal Jerry Smith at this week's school board meeting for recently being named a WVVA Hometown Hero. Kay serves as the Communities in School of the Appalachian Highlands representative for THS and works daily to provide students with basic needs such as water, electricity, food, and clothing. Kay also sponsors "Cinderella's Closet" to make sure that all students have access to prom dresses and suits.
Each year she supplies several families of THS students with Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams, as well as all of the fixings for a proper holiday meal. Kay goes above and beyond for the students of THS! Congrats to our Hometown Hero!
